Thursday, December 8th, almost 60 days after federal prosecutors in California announced a “Crackdown” on the MMJ industry, Washington has finally clarified it’s position on the issue. When questioned about recent federal priorities U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder stated the Obama administration would stay the course with the previous 2009 “Ogden” memo. Which essentially states that caregivers in compliance with state law, will not be targeted by federal authorities. Despite the June 29th 2011 memo from the administration that reminded Californian’s the federal government (read D.E.A.) reserves the right to prosecute caregivers for marijuana crimes in the state. Now they are reminding us that they are keeping us a low priority. Is anyone else getting a cramp in their neck from all of the back and forth?
